I bought this new from Guitar Center in Oakland, CA. This is a 1984 Custom Graphic Designer Series Flying V. This one’s a player! The pin-striping has aged over the years. It used to be silver and gray, now it’s yellowed.
I started modding the appearance of this guitar immediately. The pic of me below at the tender age of 16 was very close to the time of purchase. I can see I already swapped the plastic knobs and toggle tip for metal chrome ones, but had yet to do the same to the truss rod cover. It was further modified with a Washburn Wonderbar trem and a locking nut.
Funny, still has the same strap too. After all these years, some things never change...
